portland, oregon

Our anniversary is next month (wow, has it already been a year?!) and so yesterday we bought tickets to Portland. Both of us have always wanted to visit there. Since it's on the list of places we'd maybe live someday, we figured it would be a perfect opportunity to scope things out while also celebrating a successful first year of being hitched & being in love. (Plus we got a good deal thanks to DING!).

Since Seattle is so close, we'll also probably spend some time there. We're not going until early December when Clint is finished with the semester, but I'm really looking forward to it and have already started planning. Any recommendations?

  1. Aghhh, Angela Seattle is GREAT! That is the temple of course where Curt and I got hitched! There are a lot of Cool places to shop around Pike Place Market. (a must to visit!) The Space Needle too. It's pretty awesome. We went to Seattle with some of our college friends in summer of '04 before we got married and it was so much fun. Curt says the Natural Science Museum or something like that. We have family in Seattle and Portland. We've only been stuck in the tiny-hallway of an airport in Portland though. Always, just flying through. The pacific northwest is A LOT different from living in AZ and even CO. I don't know how people can live under the cloudy, rainy skies year round! That gets to be too much for me! Okay, Hope your trip is super fun!

  2. Oh we love Oregon! There is the most beautiful waterfalls and little hike right out of the city. I will find out where cause i was lost when i was there. I don't know how long you are going for but LeSueur family tradition is a little town called Cannon Beach. It is about 2 hours out of the city and it is the funnest little town ever right on the beach. Anyways you can probably check it out online. We always rent out fun houses and you can find them for cheap.

  6. Angie! Thanks for the birthday thought. Your too nice! I too have always wanted to visit seatle and portland. Tanner has lived in both of those places and he remembers he really liked them both and he said they are beautiful. And the people I met in college who come from Seatle absolutely loved living there. So I will be anxiously awaiting to hear what you think. Tanner and I are moving to Salt Lake in a month for a year or two. He got a very opportune job so we are very excited. Anyway I am glad to see that you are happy and doing well.
