party on the 202.

Maybe we went to the freeway opening party, ok?

Despite what the pictures show, there were a TON of people there. I guess I'm not the only one who is thrilled to have it open next week (my commute time should be reduced by 15 minutes, which saves me 30 minutes every day!).

Oh and unfortunately, I missed the hula-hoop contest.

  1. Maybe I took some Angela-approved pictures, eh? :) Thanks for partying with us. And I didn't really think it would be that far out of the way to drop me off, until we were driving. Sorry about that.

  2. Dang it!! We missed it again! We were totally going to go this time because we missed the last one. I was really excited about it too.

  3. that is so funny- cause' landon came home two days ago so mad because they were opening the freeway... to the public. he was all in a rage; why waste one day to let people see it? "they can see it as they drive on it, who would even go to that?!" i'll make sure and tell him someone did.
    p.s. i love your shoes.

  4. That is funny. I never heard of such a thing. Clint should have taken his skateboard to cruise around on that smooth newness.

  5. both I and the freeway lacked the requisite smoothness for such an endeavor.

  7. And why weren't we invited? I know I could have rocked the hula hoop contest.

  10. When I first saw the pics, I thought you guys had gone out to the freeway and...oh, I don't know...TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE or something.

I have never, in my life, heard of a freeway opening party, and I'm FROM AZ! It sounds too cool for us--like something NYC or San Francisco would do.

Also, I didn't know that the 202 wasn't already finished--I always think of the 202 as the stretch from Alma School to Scottsdale Road [and MAYBE as far as the airport]. But that's the Mesa in me--everything I need within a 10-mile radius. Anything farther away is simply preposterous.
