chubby.

It's sad, but true. Does anybody have some advice? I need a plan before all the upcoming candy/dessert-laden holidays, or that double chin has a chance of tripling.*

To prove my point: right now I'm sitting here eating candy corn. I don't even like candy corn.

*Ok, hopefully that would never happen. But I am tired of feeling chubby, and I'm working on a new gym schedule (including introducing yoga back into my life).

  3. I finally went to my first yoga class in for.ev.er tonight. I feel so much better about myself when I'm diligent in doing it!

I have a wicked sweet tooth too. I can't buy candy or sweets because if they're just sitting around I totally over do it (right now the Halloween candy is mocking me from the pantry. It probably won't last until Halloween).

I don't have any advice, but I definitely feel for you. At least you don't have any baby pudge to lose!

(and having recently seen you in person I know you look fabulous, so you just keep on eating that candy corn)

  5. Angela, you look great. You shouldn't even be worried about eating candy. And chubby? I don't think you could even GET chubby- your so tiny.
I feel your pain though- i really am a sweets addict! You know it's bad when you're wondering what's for desert after every meal- including breakfast!!! Wow, I did not like that.
I've been chewing sugar free gum to satisfy my sweet cravings. Doesn't always work, but sometimes does. Or I brush my teeth after eating dinner, then i don't crave so much.
Let me know if you find the cure.

  6. I read somewhere that people who crave sweets are more likely to be thin than people who crave salty/savoury snacks!

Don't worry about it, it will most probably all even out in the end - you are lovely, enjoy your sweets just try not to eat too mindlessly (There is a book called Mindless Eating, which is worth a read).

  7. a) you are not chubby.

    b) i've found that if i try and give up anything cold turkey, i tend to relapse with a horrible vengeance. and it is then, that i realize *again* that moderation in all things really works best.

    c) yoga is the best. i need to restart it too.

  8. seriously angela. chubby? not really. not even close. i know you don't want to hear my advice b/c i probably eat twice as many treats as you, BUT, i have some good advice. first, i always have candy around. for whatever reason, it makes me eat less. when i don't have any in the house, i crave it and then binge when i get some. second, i think it's silly to restrict yourself from sugar. again, it's totally pyschological (i can't spell this morning). tell yourself you can have a small treat after every meal. a piece or two of candy isn't going to hurt and then you'll get your sweet fix in. of course every now and then it's okay to eat a pan of rice kripy treats, righ? :)

  11. You don't have a double chin! I love treats and hate food, so ive got problems of my own! For dinner tonight, I got a carton of thrifty choclate malted crunch ice cream and sat on my couch with a spoon. I enjoyed every bite and put it away when i was full and the carton contents had nearly disappeared.

  13. did your mom ever use the line "children in africa are starving" to get you to eat your dinner?

maybe you use a similar tactic and consider it robbery to eat all of those sweets. you're robbing other people of candy that they could be enjoying and therefore stealing happiness. do you you really want to be that kind of person??

p.s. i would need a death threat to give up icecream.

  15. angela, don't worry you're not the only one. i, for one, will do anything for ice cream. and um, ice cream after yoga is the best. seriously, you should try it.

p.s. you're not chubby at all.

  16. You are not chubby but I do have a good idea for you. Lets have a no sweets competition until January 1. We need to think of a good prize. Like maybe we have our hubbies pay for a spa day. What do you think?
