and we're slow to acknowledge the knots in the laces.

I was more than a little bit excited when these beautiful classic Penguin books arrived today. (I know, I've been talking about books and reading a lot lately...)

In other news, weekends are glorious.

  14. hi angela,
where did you get these? i searched online and i couldn't find it anywhere, except for a UK site which is quiet pricey. thanks a lot!

  15. Oops! I thought I had also posted the link to where I bought them:

    http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/search?keywords=deluxe%20hardback%20classics&pageSize=10&pticket=tpwhkif40k3zhuz4dy54fqi3Vw%2bUgtik3q10kTgR2uab40ExIUk%3d

It's in Canada, so the US price is actually only around $11/book.

  19. those remind me of the loveliest candy store. i'm not sure if it's the colors or just the joy of new books, but those babies are as sweet as a barrel of gumballs.

  20. I'm loving these! The colors! The designs! Classic books that are a must in a library!

My husband bought me a paperback Pride and Prejudice for Christmas and said that he is going to get me a vintage copy eventually.... I think I'll tell him to just buy me all of these gorgeous books instead. Thanks for sharing.

  22. about 1/2 of the books on my shelf i originally bought for their gloriousness sitting ON the shelf.

and about 1/2 of them turned out 1/2 ok. i'll still take awesome looking books sitting on the shelf but a dumb read to boring looking books that are a great read ANY DAY!

i judge books by their covers!! i say proudly!

  23. I saw those somewhere (A Little Sussy maybe?) and totally love them. Unfortunately I already own almost all of those titles and Aaron wouldn't let me spend money to get new copies just because they're prettier (he's living in a totally different world than I am).
