i'm feeling lost and found.

This red ruffled vintage dress was found while thrifting a few weeks ago (for one dollar and seventy-five cents...score). I can't decide if I should lose those extra ruffles and make it short-sleeved, or keep them and just embrace the feminine?

problem:

My closet, or rather the whole house, is filling up with all sorts of good finds I've rescued from antique/thrift stores.

solution:
Along with the other two SeeSaw ladies, I will soon be opening up an online vintage shop filled with clothing, accessories, home decor, and other goodies from bygone eras. Stay tuned.

  3. I love it!
I am the worst thriftier ever, but I want to learn.
I am always so inspired/jealous when I see others people with great finds from thrifting.
I love the sleeves already, but I think they could be cute just a bit shorter without ruffles.

I have the same dress that I bought 4 years ago but in fucsia. Let's go out and drink some ginger-ale in our twiner dresses.

  11. oh wow what a great find! I was actually thinking before I read it, that I would like it better without the ruffles on the bottom... maybe a 3/4 length sleeve?

Still super cute though, I would totally wear it! I love ruffles, and am so happy that they are in right now!

  17. Keep the ruffles. You look gorgeous.

I am so excited that you are going to sell some of your vintage finds. You are the ultimate thrifter.

Please, please, please sell that embroidered (or cross stitched?) piece of decoration for a nursery. The one you posted about a long time ago with the letters of the alphabet and picture to go along with each letter? I will pay big bucks. Oh and can you also throw in all of your dishes, cups, and that cute bright pitcher with matching cups? Thanks. In fact, don't even open a store. Just email me and I'll buy it all.

But really, think about selling that nursery thing. I will buy it in a heartbeat.

  29. lose the ruffles on the sleeves. it would look a lot sleeker and would not destroy the femininity of it.

i'll be so pleased when i see that upholstery ribbon/whateverit'scalled used :)

  39. 40 comments wow. Popular.

Angela - why wasn't I cool like you before I had kids? I kind of wallowed that I didn't have kids and forgot to use my time wisely. You make me want a redo. I always have loved thrifting, but I don't really remember going much before kids when it would have actually been a really great season for thrifting. It makes me happy that you thrift.

Oh and you do get a prize, but Ryan made me take off the hint cause maybe it's a little rude of us to say money stuff on our blog. Sorry for being rude.

  40. When I said I wanted a redo, I hope it came across that I wanted a redo on how I spent my years before kids, not on the fact of when I had kids or the fact that I have kids. Wouldn't change that for a million years of thriftable time.
