you wait for someone that'll make the waiting worth the wait.

Ever since we went to the Built to Spill concert last week I've been thinking about this:

Back in high school, Clint and I used to hang out via MSN Messenger sometimes. Every so often he'd type a line from a favorite song and I'd try to impress him by typing the next line. I remember a lot of those lyrics being from Built to Spill. (Yes, I'm aware of how embarrassing and nerdy this sounds. We were awesome.)

Once, right before a show, he made me promise that if they played a certain song I would kiss him in front of everyone. They did, and I did. And then late one night after driving home together from another Built to Spill concert in Tucson, I finally gave in and told him I loved him too while saying goodnight on my front porch.

I love these silly little memories of us.

(Forgive my nostalgia. I can't seem to keep it in check these days.)
