I'm reading Pride and Prejudice for the very first time. Needless to say, I've been quite wrapped up in it this week.
I was the same way when I FINALLY got around to actually reading Jane Austen instead of just watching BBC adaptations. The books are so good at just sucking you in.
I'm finally reading Persuasion. It's great.Love your pretty new blog header. It matches your pretty new (old) couch. :)
i feel jealous when people tell me they're reading one of my favorite books for the first time. you can never read it for the first time again, you know?
love that book! i read it in 9th grade
One of my favorites. And isn't it so much better to read it when it's in such a beautiful cover?! Enjoy.
i totally agree with abby.i'm glad you finally made the commitment to read it. it's one of my favorites too
You should have a mini book club with Alex over that one. It is certainly one of her favorites. She has read it MANY times over. It is sort of her go-to book on Sundays (aside from holy writ). I have not read it yet, but I am a fan of the film with Keira Knightley. Beautifully filmed.
angela! I'm reading pride and prejudice right now to for the first time too! I'm on chapter 32. It has been interesting comparing it to the movie. Usually I read the book then watch the movie but this has been fun the other way since I've seen both versions of the movies.
I pretty much read this EVERY time I go on vacation. It never gets old.
huz-zah. i love these penguin books--just posted about some actually. happy reading!and i love your new header.
i'm shocked this is your first time! ...and i agree with abby.
my friend gave me this same edition for my birthday this year. it was my first time reading it too, but i was hooked. why can't writing be as witty as it used to be?
Oh Mr Darcy... I just finished P&P for the 4th or 5th time. I just started Mansfield Park, I've never read it before so I'm excited about a new story. SO glad you're enjoying it:)
My FAVORITE book EVER. Hope you love it as much as I do :)
OK, this is going to sound TOTALLY silly but I sometimes with I could go back and read something for the very first time just to experience that pleasure. My first two would be Pride and Prejudice and The Secret Garden.
