Last week, I went to the state fair to watch a dance recital for three of my darling nieces. The fair is pretty ghetto, there are gross smells around every corner, and it's ridiculously overpriced.
But I still get a thrill out of the colors everywhere, the people-watching, the ferris wheel, and my absolute favorite: those giant slides. (I went down them three times with the little girls - just look at that big smile on my face).

ReplyDeleteI love love love the AZ State Fair. I'm sad I missed it this year.
ReplyDeleteI love how you see your litte corner of your world. These photos would look lovely in a nursery or play room. I love their youthfulness and brightness. They make me happy.
ReplyDeleteI think you look beautiful in the picture of you sliding with your nieces and a big smile on your face.
And dang it because of you, I am not going to be happy with any old Christmas picture. I want a picture of all of us sliding down that slide for our annual card, and my photographer lives in Idaho now.
Whoa! The State Fair may smell, but it sure looks great on film!
ReplyDeletegreat, GREAT, pictures. It looks like you traveled back in time and spent the day at Coney Island. The last fair I went to was the Western Idaho Fair, when I was 18... I really wish I had a Pronto Pup (fresh fried corn dog, painted with mustard) right about now!
ReplyDeleteI got a link for your photos from, Where the Lovely Things Are.
ReplyDeleteI like you love color and these photos are just plain awesome to me.
Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen slides like that in real life.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures. The colors you captured remind me of the fun I had as a little girl when I went to the AZ state fair. Thanks for bringing back the memories through your beautiful pictures. :)- jen
ReplyDeleteThose are great photos! The Fair should hire you for publicity. They make me want to go to the fair, and I usually don't have any desire to go to the fair!
ReplyDeleteIs there water on that huge slide?
