tangled in those dreams.

These flowers are the only sign of Valentine's Day around our house - but I absolutely love them. Ranunculus are my all-time favorite.

Clint has been getting his real estate license and he's gone late three nights a week. It feels like college all over again (hardly seeing each other, late nights, off schedules) and I think we'll both be glad when it's over. Last night we got in a stupid little argument and it's been bugging me all day. Why can't I just be nice all the time? I'm looking forward to forgetting about it and celebrating February 13th and something else exciting (we made a decision and it feels good).

Five senses for today:

---------------------

tasting

Water. So much water. I'm trying to drink 2-3L a day and it's a chore.

hearing
Beach Fossils - DayDream

seeing
Less of the computer screen. I made a goal today to spend less than 4 hours on the computer (it's harder than it sounds when you are used to working on one all day long). I might continue this throughout the whole weekend.

touching
Verizon iPhone! This is so so exciting. I have a functioning phone again. It works in my house and hasn't dropped one call yet. (Good riddance, AT&T.)

smelling
J.R. Watkins dish soap, hand soap, and cleaner, after tidying up the kitchen. I love that stuff and the packaging is beautiful.

Happy Valentine's weekend!

  8. I love your tradition of homemade cards. Except does Clint get intimidated because your homemade cards are actually reallllllllllllllllllly nice and fancy? :) Do I say it enough that letterpress is so cool?

Glad you feel good about whatever decision you had to make!

I am obsessed with ranunculus. Me: 1- tulips, 2- ranunculus, 3- penoies, 4- hydrangea. Now I want to go and buy flowers for myself.

Oh and wasn't Abby's post fun about baby names? I can't wait for you to have a little Margo or Elliot (I was proud that you and I both love that name :).

  9. For some reason this post is so dreamy to me. I love the words, I love that even though you had a fight it's been bugging you and you hate it, I love that it's so real. I just love you! I'm glad you made a decision. :) Good luck!

  10. Those flowers are pa-ritty.

Thanks again for playing with Clara yesterday. She gets so bored with me, especially when I neglect her for work.

Less than 4 hours on the computer would be tough for me. How pathetic.

  15. I totally know how you feel when your husbands gone all the time. Rob's been working (40 hrs a week at his new job but he's also still working part time at Apple (20 hrs a week). So we pretty much never see him and his only day off is usually Sunday. It's so hard!! We get in dumb little arguments all the time too. Way more then when we would spend every second together. It's rediculous! (It's usually all my fault, too)

I love those flowers! I showed Rob your pictures and told him those were pretty flowers, since his flowers of choice usually come from Basha's and have carnations in them. No thank you!

  27. Ranunculus are my all time favorite as well. They're so soft and pretty without being a peony (does that even make sense? ha!). You have the prettiest collection of vases I have ever seen. Where are you finding these?!

  28. those flowers are so beautiful. some of my favorite, and in pink even better! i love the five sense posts, great idea. i also have been doing your 50 percent raw challenge and seriously has helped so much. how do you drink that much water??? crazzy i need to try that.

i agree with kate about the decision, or possibly maybe a baby :) good luck with everything :)

  29. thank you, everyone!

jenna - most of my vases are thrift store finds. in this post, the large vase/pot is from IKEA. and the smaller one is a vintage HALL vase.

  30. Ranunculus make me smile. I tried growing them a few years back but they didn't last very long (*tear).
