A juxtaposition of what our mornings look like around here:
i
sleep in - and consequently, work late
move slow and grumble a little until I'm fully awake
eat a breakfast of quinoa flakes and grapefruit
pull out a little sketchbook I keep telling myself I'm going to use
find a funny photobooth picture I forgot existed
take forever to get ready and change my outfit three times
he
wakes up early to play one of his guitars and watch TV
lets out a ridiculous amount of morning energy (jumping on the bed, push ups & sit ups, etc.)
eats a breakfast of eggs and orange juice
teases me relentlessly and calls me grumpy five times
searches the house high and low for something he lost
gets ready within ten minutes
p.s. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging comments and emails about this... it means a lot.

I love this! It sounds just like my house.
ReplyDeleteCute. Love the photobooth pic!
ReplyDeleteI always.always.always loose my keys. Graham teases me like crazy and calls me "senile."
i found my keys!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Dillon and me. I could sleep forever and he is an early riser. It's because HE sleeps like a log, wheras I toss and turn all night, wake up twice to pee and have crazy dreams.
ReplyDeleteso cute. beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are looking up. <3 <3
I think the day I stop being cheap will be the day you stop changing multiple times in the morning. Some things never change. :)
ReplyDeleteI have successfully transformed Brian from morning person into night owl... there may be hope for Clint too:)
ReplyDeleteKaty is the only early riser in the house, and she knows better than to make any noise until we're up!
Love that I am not the only "grumpy" one in the morning! It was so fun to see you guys last week. We always enjoy spending time with the Hardison's! Keep us updated about the big decision
ReplyDeleteyou have been beautiful from the day i first saw you. Aren't you glad you got your looks from your Mom
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about mornings. And yay Clint found his keys!
ReplyDeletehaha yes i love to sleep in too and my boyfriend takes 10 minutes to get ready as i decide what to wear. life is tough :D

sounds alot like my morning. Jared is up at 6:30, does the dishes, bible study, balances the checkbook, and gets ready all before I roll out of bed around 8 like a grumpy monster. :-)
ReplyDeleteyou two are adorable. PS. We have grapefruit for breakfast every morning too....PPS I love your table cloth. LOVE love love it.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfasts sound delicious.
ReplyDeletealright i love the layout of your blog. adorable.
ReplyDeletefunny...i saw my photography professor scribbling on that same notebook yesterday. i thought it looked like a pretty neat little book. love your pictures!
ReplyDeletemmm mornings at your place sound heavenly... except we are totally role-reversed. i'm the one up at the crack of dawn and stu could sleep in all day, lucky dog.
ReplyDeletei missed your last post and the news.. i'm so glad your body is getting back to normal. i'm convinced birth control is evil, it took me over a year to feel right with my body after i stopped.. i hadn't heard about naturopathic drs until i met christy horne. keeping it natural and changing up our normal diets really seem to be the best possible thing for our bodies. you are beautiful!
landon always gets up hours before me. when he asked my mom if he could marry me she said "yes. but i'm going to warn you, she's not a morning person."
ReplyDeleteMorning time is my favorite time! I'm with Clint :) But on the flip side, I normally zonk out way early.
ReplyDeleteThat is very similar to the mornings around here! The mister's idea of getting ready is to get dressed in whatever he sees first, brush his teeth and that's it. he doesn't even eat breakfast! I take much, much longer and I'm very grumpy.
ReplyDeleteSeriously laughed hysterically while reading this. This is so me and Chris. I am at my worst in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteha ha. i hate mornings too. i love that top picture.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the greatest couple, ever.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post! Where's that couch from?
ReplyDeletescott, thanks! the sofa is vintage - found at an estate sale.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is so unfair how guys can get ready so quickly. I'm in the shower before my husband and he's out the door while I'm still drying my hair. Unfair!
