i wanna hurry home to you.

The house is consuming all of our extra time.

It's funny how many little things slipped by us before that now we're noticing: missing outlets, peeling paint on cupboards, cracks in the wall, and so on. But I know that's what you get with an old house, and I kinda love all the funny little surprises. We lowered the baseboards in preparation for getting the wood floors refinished, and discovered tons of paint layers, including pink and seafoam green. That makes my greys and whites seem especially boring.

Clint has been telling people we're moving in two weeks, and I'm still trying to figure out how one month is even possible. We're making progress though (can you call staring at sofas and rugs online for days progress?), and getting anxious to be there. It feels more and more like home each day.

it takes forever to renovate. there is always a project.

  3. We also bought an old house to be renovated. The best advice is to just live in it for a little while and then start with the renovations to get a feel for how you want it. This has helped us out a lot. :)

I looove your tiles. I will check if I can find similar ones in Sweden. Could you give me a link for yours in the US?

    Good luck with the move!

  4. I don't know why you haven't asked me for help to pick your paint color. I'm pretty sure I picked the perfect color for our family room.

  7. Jealoussss. I wish we had an old house to renovate.

Instead, we have a too-white-but-can't-be-painted apartment, and coming next: possibly moving back in with the in-laws. Yiiikes.

    But one day! Eventually!

  14. I agree with Senja. The nice thing about your situation is you don't have any kids so you can take your time with the renovations. We had to live with my in-laws until ours were done ... only two weeks, but the longest 14 days of my life!

  22. Oh my goodness...I'm so tickled for you guys. A new home is so much work, but so worth it. I'm also glad to see you're picking grey for your walls. We chose some pretty loud ones when we bought our home and I've found that I prefer the rooms with more muted tones.

  23. i love discovering old layers of paint. my closet is chipped with pink and the most obnoxious purple but i can't seem to be able to part with it.
after living here for 4 months now, we're just now getting around to covering outlets and grouting the tile. haha. it's amazing how comfortable one can get with 80%.
p.s. love love love your paint choices.
