find it and shine it.

When you were young, did you plan your outfit the night before and set it out so it was all ready to go in the morning? Sometimes I think it would be helpful if I still did that. I have problems getting dressed every day. Usually, I change my outfit at least three times. Clint thinks it's ridiculous and I have to agree, but I'm not sure how to do better.

The closet in our new house is about one-fourth the size of our current one. Maybe limiting my options is the key. Someone needs to come over to help me pare down my wardrobe and get rid of the things I never wear (or shouldn't wear).

  5. christina, the rug is from anthropologie. just a little 5x8, because i couldn't afford the big one. i've had it for awhile and have really loved it.

it's way too small for our new great room, and i'm having a dreadful time trying to find a large, pretty, affordable rug.

    anybody have rug suggestions??!

  6. what i can't figure out is what makes the same shirt totally suck one friday night and then seem to be the most perfect selection the next! life is a mystery.

  7. I had a meeting in the city on Tuesday and the bed was covered with clothing. Even when I put my clothes out the night before, I still do the many changes dance. Maybe Kayla is right. We may have to embrace the crazy!

  11. I'll admit, I layed out my outfits up until college. Even ask my dorm roommate, Natalie Jones (you know her, right?). Sometimes I still do it for Oliver. I'm a freak.

Are Seychelles your most favorite shoe brand? I don't think any other shoes compare to their cuteness and comfort. I always have visions that if I lived in AZ I"d find them at Last Chance on a regular basis. My successful LC days in high school have given me this false idea that Last Chance offers everything that Nordstrom does. My most recent trips have proved me wrong, but I still love (and dream of) the place.

I'm with Niki, I'll come over and help you minimize your wardrobe. I'll tell you that everything that I love is just hideous on you. ;)

  12. shalynna, yep. seychelles are my most favorite brand right now. they're cute AND comfortable. (and clearly, i've loved these red shoes so much because i keep including them in my photos).

  13. When we moved into a new apartment, our closet was MUCH smaller than I'm used to. And that made me not like the clothing I had in it. Which made me buy more clothing that I really didn't need. So I moved all of my things into the second bedroom closet (my very own space!).
I feel so much more at peace with my wardrobe.

  15. I'll come over and go shopping in your closet I mean help you clean. Oh and I just bought that same belt today while thrifting. Mine is navy and I was thinking, "darn I wish it was yellow." Then I open your blog and see its yellow twin.

  16. I *always* pick out my work ensembles the night before. If I don't, I stand in my closet, looking desperately back and forth at my clothes.

Also, it has helped me a lot to pare down my closet to ony things that I love and look great in, so it's more mix and match.

  17. Please don't throw this outfit out! It's darling! I LOVE the blue skirt paired with the yellow belt OH so much!

  18. I never know what I want to or am in the mood to wear until the morning I am dressing.

  19. Beautiful outfit! Love the blue skirt and red shoes, especially, although who am I kidding that blouse is darling. I wish I could come help you clean your closet (and keep the things you no longer wanted) ;)!

  20. Whoa. What's that table? And the rug? And those shoes? If the end result looks like that, who cares how you got there?! So rad.

  21. I love everything about this outfit!

I've be known for selecting outfits ahead of time, or at least the night before. I don't like to be rushed in the morning!

  22. You're too cute! I say you just buy one of those portable closets from target. They're really classy. ;)

  23. Haha! I think we all do it! I actually had to move my clothes to the closet in the guest bedroom which was bigger than the closet in the master! I actually DO layout my clothes the night before... otherwise I'm at a total loss. However you ALWAYS have the cutest outfits!

  24. I also change my outfit many times in the morning. Which is why I have piles of clothes on my dresser...I'm just too lazy to hang it all up too. :P

  25. sometimes when i'm feeling extra ambitious, i still do that.

  26. let's play a little game of i'll help you and you help me.

i'll help you decide which clothes to give me and you help me decide which of my clothes we should give to DI. :)

maybe if i chnaged 3 times a day, i'd look a little more presentable.

  29. Oh my goodness....I LOVE your blue skirt. Cree and I share a closet that 's about two feet wide...it's awful. I feel your pain! I shouldn't complain though...our first apartment didn't even have a closet. :)

  30. I totally put together my outfit last night and now am leaning towards changing it again so who knows if that helps. It always reminds me of first days of school though. :)

  31. Love that outfit, the colors are awesome, and don't get me started on those shoes. Gah!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I will gladly take the clothes you don't want off your hands.

  33. i love these shoes. i think i've seen them on here before, right? they are really pretty.

the color/length the that skirt is perfect! thrifted?

in our new house there are actually TWO closets in the master bedroom. (to be honest, it's what sold me on the place!) one for lando and a walk in one for me. it's the best and worst thing that's ever happened to my wardrobe.

  34. Even if I pick an outfit out the night before, I may not be in the mood to wear it in the morning. So, one of the things I do when I put my clothes away is put outfits together. Say, I'll take a dress, then put a jacket or sweater on the same hanger, lay a belt on and/or necklace, some tights and hang it back up. I'll do a few of these, switching it up each week. I don't have a huge closet, so everything goes back in sideways. I wish I could hang everything facing out like a store display! This really helps me, though very often I also do the 3 outfit hussle, it all depends on how my body feels that day.

To join in with the crowd, love the shoes!!!

  35. I got it the other way, instead changing clothes three times before going out in the morning, I just find something I really like and wear it for three days in a row. Easier, and I get to work sooner.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I also change multiple times a day.. It's a problem. p.s. love what you're wearing in these photos!

    ReplyDelete
  37. i'm the worst at this. and then, after i finally figure out what i want to wear, i end up with peanut butter/applesauce/some other sticky food all over me within a few hours. (thanks, tayvee.)
it must be so hard for you though, since you have the most awesome wardrobe ever! i wouldn't be able to decide what great things to wear everyday either. :)

  38. Oooh I still plan what I'm going to waer the night before.
Do not have time to faff arround in the morning, and I would if I didn't pick the night beofre!

  39. I rarely ever lay my clothes out the night before, but I do organize my clothes by style & color which helps when I'm getting ready.

If you need help paring down your wardrobe, I'd gladly take any of those clothes off your hands. You always have the raddest outfits!
