local love: mesa farmer's market.

This morning I ventured over to the Mesa Community Farmer's Market, which is basically right around the corner from us now. Since I have Fridays off, this will probably become a weekly tradition. My bag was filled with red leaf lettuce, squash, heirloom tomatoes, shallots, mulberries, beets, red potatoes, artichokes, basil, and the cutest wild carrots. I also picked up some locally-made cilantro jalapeño hummus and a bag of yulu seeds.

If ever I'm feeling uninspired, all I need to do is take time to appreciate the beauty in fruits and vegetables. They're amazing.

Happy long weekend! We were planning on going up to the cabin in Pinetop, but there's still a little too much going on with our house and life in general... so instead we're staying home and I'm going to be ultra productive.

  12. I love the cilantro jalepeño hummus! I'm hoping to get called off work tomorrow so I can venture out to the farmers market at Roadrunner Park. Our fridge and pantry are sparse {that's putting it mildly} so I really need to stock up on fresh, lovely veggies!
