local love: paletas betty.

Best summer discovery so far: Paletas Betty in downtown Chandler. Handmade Mexican ice and cream pops made from fresh, whole ingredients. And aren't they cute? They come with a tiny signature "bite" out of the corner.

We bought a handful to try some different flavors. The key lime pie pop was perhaps the most delicious frozen dessert I've ever had, and I'm currently trying to resist eating another kind for breakfast.

Have you ever made your own popsicles? I've been wanting to experiment with some fun recipes, but until then — I have a new favorite place for treats.

  1. We used to make our own popsicles when I was little, but I've since grown up and gotten an ice cream maker---the newest flavor I did was rosehip, and I have to tell you, if you love that tart key lime, you'd love rosehip. That, and it's this gorgeous mauve color...love.

  5. I've heard about this place but haven't checked it out. I love Mexican popsicles though, like Flor de Michoacan in Mesa. What a great idea for a place--a nicer popsicle shop. Though I am not so sure I like the fake bite. ~Marily
