if you shake her heart enough.

We spoke in church on Sunday. I'm always so relieved once it's over... I walked in our front door and sat right down on the couch, with that box of sea salt and turbinado sugar dark chocolate almonds. And then I didn't move for over an hour.

That basically sums up the past few days, because other than preparing my talk (and making a grocery trip to Trader Joe's for said almonds and other goodies) I'm afraid I was positively useless.

Here's hoping for more energy and productivity this week!
If you have any pick-me-up music suggestions, I'd gladly take them.

  3. What a beautiful space! I could certainly go for a few turbinado-sugar-dark-chocolate almonds right now. Why is it that "snacking" always makes everything better? Kim xo

  4. "Keep Your Head Up" by Andy Grammer. It's LITERALLY a pick-me-up song, and it just makes me want to get up and dance.

  7. Love what you've done with your home. Simplicity at it's best.

The decemberists will be here soon so I've had them on repeat. Can't help but dance when I hear calamity song.

  12. You are so darling. I would have loved to have been there for your talks. Is Clint funny at the pulpit or more serious? Sometimes the funny people are serious and then the not so funny people try to be funny. :)

We've been listening to Little Joy the past couple of weeks. I love them. Have you heard of them? The album is called Little Joy too I think.

  16. speaking in church is THE WORST! after doing something like that you definitely deserve to sit and munch on treats all day long. and p.s. so obsessed with that green chair of yours! :)

  17. oh man, I totally know the feeling. We spoke a couple of weeks ago, and it's just so relieving to be done. I personally get very nervous speaking in front of anyone, plus it's so emotionally draining. :) But always a great experience! Hope you have a great day!

  18. I like speaking in church and doing Sunday school lessons...what I don't like is singing in church.

When I'm feeling like that I listen to a lot of piano music.

  19. My girls suggest listening to defying gravity from wicked. they belt it out and seem to have plenty of energy. But as far as productivity goes, their definition may be a little different from yours. They say it helps them dress up like witches and fly around the house really effectively.

ps. i love your home as well.

  20. Whoa, you guys JUST spoke in our ward, too! Exhausting.

Love your living space! I'd love to see a post of your whole house. I bet it's to-die-for.

  23. haha! My husband and I spoke on Sunday too! It was sort of a disaster. The youth speaker didn't show up. It was our first full "grown up" talks since in singles wards they have 3 speakers and musical numbers. Oh, and then I left a whole PAGE at home. And I said shoot. haha :) It feels so good to be done! I'm sure you did fantastic!

  30. You've got to check out Designers.MX (http://designers.mx). It's a site for designers to create playlists (and design a custom cover for said playlist), share music, and get to know each other's musical tastes. There's got to be something there to fit your mood! Here's my mix: http://designers.mx/coverstories. Hope you like it!

  31. I listen to that mix you made me over and over and over. Rachel's too.

  34. i have a deal for you: i will write your next talk if you give me that green skirt. it's so cute!

you know my suggestion for pick-me-ups: no sugar, raw food and maca root. or, sometimes i try a cartwheel or a headstand. (and i'm being totally serious. it really does help me).

also, diet coke works. hope you are getting your mojo back.

  35. I definitely blame the weather. Things have been rough the past few weeks, and everyone has been out of it! I can honestly say I am ready for this summer to end!

  36. oh my.... the other nite someone brought those little buggers over and the amount i ate was enough to make me lethargic. those things are addictive.
