how my heart behaves.

Thank you so much for all of the congratulations!

It's pretty neat how much you can care about a tiny little human you've never met. At the ultrasound a couple weeks ago, baby did some flips for us. I'm sure it will be awesome when I start feeling it move inside of me. Clint keeps calling it a boy, I keep calling it a girl, but we'll be thrilled with whatever we get and cannot wait to find out in a few weeks. We like to laugh at my growing belly (I can push it out pretty far at night) and constantly talk about names. Everything is so new the first time around so we're soaking that up.

For the first trimester I was pretty out of it. Every evening I would get really sick, so a lot of time during those 12 weeks was spent in bed or standing over the toilet. A crazy amount of carbs were consumed and a few too many pounds put on right away. It's true; growing a human is hard work.

All this to say I'm so grateful to be feeling (mostly) better now and cannot wait to get back in the swing of things.

  10. I'm guessing it's a boy bc of all the nauseousness. I've heard it's bc of the testosterone. With my twin girls I had very little nausea. Either way, being pregnant is so amazing and magnificent! Enjoy the ride!

  11. I vote for Snozzleberry, mainly because the BFG is one of my favorite books.

I am so, so happy for you guys. I hope you document lots and lots on this blog (or at least email me every now and again!)

  13. yahoo!!! I hope you are feeling better. IT IS hard work!!!!

And don't worry about the weight. It's just numbers. Just take good care of yourself. Every woman, body, baby is different. I gained a ton of weight right away, and then not much in the middle, and a lot at the end again. It's all for baby and what he/she needs.

OH MAN, what a fashionable baby you'll have and what a beautiful mother you'll be.

  23. Growing a human is so much work, none of us would blame you if you had to take an 8 month blogging vacation. We'd sure miss you though. I'm so happy for you and send you a heart of full of well-wishes.

  25. that's the scariest part of pregnancy for me. as someone who's never been pregnant, the thought of puking my guts up every day for three months makes me want to adopt. i mean, i heard a pregnant woman in the store talking to her friend about how she chooses foods based on how they feel/taste coming back up-- that's just too much for me. i'm glad you're feeling better.
