The Christmas DIY spirit took over me this weekend while sick at home, so I decided to get crafty with my down time. I made the colorful felt ball garland I've been wanting for years. I started working on a yarn wreath, but it's yet to be determined if it will actually turn out cute. And then inspired by Emily's holiday special, I designed this Joy to the World map print and framed it to put on the mantle. (Sidenote: when I realized we actually have a fireplace and mantle to hang stockings from for once, it made me extra happy.)
'Tis the season for giving, so here's a free printable PDF of my artwork if you want to make your own.

ReplyDeleteThank you for kindly sharing that wonderful print! I made a garland last year, but couldn't figure out how to space mine so evenly. Did you glue them, please share your secret! I ended up just pushing them together, but might fix mine this year!

Ellie
I love them both! Thank you for sharing the downloads, I already know who I want to make one for. :)
ReplyDeleteellie - i didn't glue the felt balls. i used hemp string so it has a slight texture to it, and made sure the needle i was using didn't poke holes too large. they stay in place just fine (though they are lose enough to move back/forth as needed).
ReplyDeleteoh gosh, i wish i could be productive like this when i am sick. i find it hard enough to do when i am feeling tip top shape. next christmas i promise to be better at decorating!
ReplyDeletexo TJ
