Last week during a quiet moment, it hit me how much I already love this baby, and I cried. Maybe it had something to do with this beautiful lullaby shared by a friend, or maybe it was because I've been sick for over a week and am really lacking sleep. But probably it's just because my heart was going to burst.
It also hit me how there's so much left to do to get ready, and we've done almost nothing. Aside from a few clothes and a crib that should be arriving any day, there aren't many signs of a baby coming home. Time to get to work.
That's my bump at 29+ weeks. An old lady at church told me it looked like I was blossoming... that's a nice way to put it. Oh, and how sweet is the vintage rocking horse? My sister-in-law Kathryn refinished it and gave it to us for Christmas.

Oh my goodness! You are so beautiful!!! What a sweet rocking horse.
ReplyDeleteDon't stress! Nobody is ever fully "prepared" when it comes to this kind of stuff. Just enjoy this special time and do one thing at a time. You look radiant! Ps; that horse is adorbs--what a sweet gift.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! And what a lovely song! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYou are the cutest! You really look so, so pretty. And of course you have the cutest maternity wardrobe. I'm not surprised. :)
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait for your little girl to get here. She is going to be so sweet and I'm excited to see what she'll be like. Congrats again!
That rocking horse is darling. What a thoughtful gift.
And don't you love those moments where you just realize how blessed you are to have this baby in your tummy? I remember reading a cheesy sign at a Dr.'s appointment that said, "A baby fills a hole in your heart that you never knew was there," and that just killed me. It's definitely something I never understood until I became pregnant/a mother myself. So glad you are having those special moments too!
This was such a touching post :) beautiful photos as well
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Congrats on the baby!
ReplyDeleteI agree, no one is fully ready. You look lovely and radiant. Love the rocking horse.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Angela. You are blossoming.

'blossoming'- I like that. Better that some of the comments i've had. Eg. Wow you're huge, or - are you sure you don't have twins in there! I'm not actually that big, but I'm a small build so my belly does kind of swamp me. I'm 29 weeks also. By the way, don't know why your new years resolution is to lose 50pound! You look fantastic and it's clearly all baby!
ReplyDeleteAngela, from a seasoned mom - all you need to welcome that baby home is a crib, a carseat and some onesies. Oh, and your chest if you plan to nurse. Everything else is just fluff and sometimes just gets in the way. If you start out life as a minimalist mom, you will fair well.
ReplyDeleteVery well put. Congratulations!
